1200W, and it goes through ice

Most household blenders sold here run 300 to 800 watts — fine for a banana, useless on ice or dry masala. At 1200W this one has enough motor to crush ice cubes rather than rattle them around the bottom of the jug.

Two litres, one batch

Enough lassi or juice for the whole family in a single go, so you are not emptying the jug halfway and starting again.

Blender and grinder on one base

Swap the jar and it changes job. The large jug handles juice, lassi, smoothies and soup. The grinder jar takes dry masala, coffee beans and nuts. One motor, one thing to find space for.

Unbreakable jug

Shatter-resistant plastic rather than glass. In a busy kitchen with children in it, that is the right trade — a dropped glass jug is a morning spent picking splinters out of the floor.

Use it in bursts

Short bursts do the job and the motor lasts. Running any blender continuously for minutes at a time is what burns them out — pulse it, let it rest, pulse again.
